Join us to learn about resources for emergency preparedness planning.
Attendees will learn about:
-The different kinds of emergencies that are common here in Central MA (snow, flooding, gas leaks, fires, etc.)
-The things to consider when making plans (How do you get out of your house? Where do you meet if you have to evacuate? If your neighborhood needs to be evacuated? Communications planning? etc.)
-Creating shelter in place and evacuation kits (what should be in them and why)
-Special considerations for caregivers
-Free and low cost preparedness options (what can you do now and what can you build towards)
-Resources to learn more and get involved (ready.gov, volunteer opportunities)
About the Presenter
Sarah Levin-Lederer teaches in-person and online classes on topics including public health, graphic medicine and emergency preparedness for the Network of the National Library of Medicine Region 7. Sarah previously worked for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and holds a Masters of Public Health with a focus on health communication and education from Temple University.
