Bloomsday, celebrated annually on June 16, commemorates the life of Irish writer James Joyce and his monumental novel, Ulysses. The event takes its name from Leopold Bloom, the book's protagonist. The novel takes place entirely on a single day—June 16, 1904—documenting the ordinary and extraordinary events of that day across Dublin.
The reading of Ulysses is an immersive, marathon literary experience, widely celebrated across the globe.
Join us at the Worcester Talking Book Library with our friends from the Worcester County Poetry Association as we host a reading. Bring your copy of Ulysses-or borrow one from us! For more information on the events celebrating the day, please visit
