Learn how to paint in the style of legendary Black artist, Alma Thomas.
Children ages 6-12: Using a range of materials and paint, let's make something beautiful in the style of Alma Thomas. Alma Thomas was one of the first Black women to have received a bachelors art degree and she was the first Black woman to have her work included in the White House's permanent art collection. She is known for her vibrant colors and mosiac-like patterns that reflect Alma's love and curiosity of nature. Let's have fun playing with color and shapes and see what we can make! While supplies last.

The Burncoat Branch is a public library located inside the Burncoat Street Preparatory School, and is part of the One City, One Library initiative. It was made possible thanks to the generous support of the UMass Chan Medical School, George I. Alden Trust, and The George F. and Sybil H. Fuller Foundation.
